Recruitment Consultant (Contract)

Reporting to the Supervisor, Talent Acquisition, the Recruitment Consultant partners with hiring leaders in the organization to provide recruitment and selection expertise. The Recruitment Consultant consults with internal hiring leaders to manage the end-to-end recruitment process for assigned open vacancies, manages internal client expectations and the internal/external candidate experience.  In addition, s/he will work to build a strong employment brand and attract and retain highly qualified applicants to the organization.

 

The incumbent is expected to behave ethically and follow the established code of business conduct, policies and internal control procedures, laws and regulations governing Toronto Hydro.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:                                           

  • Leads the full cycle recruitment process for assigned job vacancies (administrative/support, professional roles) through posting vacant positions, screening profiles of candidates, interviewing using behavioural and situational techniques, creating testing methodologies, providing selection recommendations  to hiring leaders, conducting reference checks and negotiating offers; consults with recruitment vendors as required to support talent sourcing.
  • Monitors, tracks and summarizes Talent Management metrics for key performance indicators dashboard including collecting and analyzing data for trends and providing recommendations.
  • Acts as the main point of contact for internal/external job applicants, providing consultation and follow-up at each phase of the recruitment process (including career planning/management, development, and feedback).
  • Working with Talent Management Consultants, provides execution support to large scale and more complex recruitment campaigns.
  • Plans and participates in talent attraction, industry events, career fairs and outreach initiatives to develop a talent pipeline to fill current and future vacancies.
  • Develops and cultivates talent pipeline to direct/indirect networking and sourcing.
  • Participates in departmental or divisional key projects and initiatives to advance Talent Management systems or processes and build a strong employment brand to attract and retain highly qualified applicants to the organization.

 

REQUIREMENTS:                                                        

  • Post-secondary Degree (Business, Human Resources or related discipline preferred).
  • Five (5) years progressive experience in human resources with a specific focus in recruitment and selection and varied administration work experience.
  • Previous experience in a unionized environment preferred.
  • CHRP/CHRL certified or working towards certification preferred.
  • Experience leveraging social media tools to proactively source candidates to fill current and future openings and source for hard-to-fill positions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
