Talent Acquisition Supervisor

The Talent Acquisition Supervisor is responsible for leading the day to day execution of full cycle recruitment activities to achieve short and long term staffing strategies and plans for the organization.  The Supervisor will lead the development of employment branding strategies to support talent attraction, working with internal and external stakeholders to implement and align talent branding plans and initiatives.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:

 

  • Provide day to day coaching and guidance and lead a client focussed team to execute day to day client recruitment needs to strategically source talent to support the organizations’ attainment of annual recruitment goals, governance, policy and legal compliance. 
  • Continuously improve productivity, performance and cost savings of the Talent Acquisition team through opportunities from technology and management systems.
  • Lead the execution of new graduate and entry level trades and technical recruitment campaigns, providing leadership in the project management, engagement and change management of quality and diverse talent pools.
  • Maintain and evolve recruitment and selection tools.   Audits recruitment process, tools, methodologies and standards to ensure quality and alignment to human resources systems.
  • Build and manage the relationship with external talent acquisition services and staffing vendors to manage day to day performance and service requirements in an effort to achieve short and long term talent acquisition goals.  Lead the implementation and engagement for the request for proposal and vendor selection process for talent acquisition services and staffing vendors.
  • Develop and recommend employment branding and marketing initiatives to enhance the organization’s talent brand to attract qualified and diverse candidates to the organization.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (including colleges and universities) to build current and future talent pools that support the organization’s long and short term resourcing needs.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Undergraduate degree.
  • Post-graduate degree/diploma or certificate in Human Resources preferred.
  • Masters level degree Industrial Relations/Human Resources and/or Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL), preferred.
  • Seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience in full cycle recruitment and selection (professional to senior leadership roles).
  • Three (3) or more years project leadership experience; direct supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in collective agreement interpretation and administration as it relates to recruitment prefrered.
  • Experience sourcing candidates using social media (i.e. LinkedIn®).
  • Strong planning, organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and change management skills.
  • Demonstrated influence and negotiations skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; successful track record in large and complex organizations, providing advice to leadership teams in corporate and operations environments on matters related to recruitment and staffing.
  • Able to work closely with stakeholders to define recruitment needs and develop new and innovative approaches, services and tools to enhance their ability to manage their businesses and functions.
  • Models a customer focused approach in all decisions and actions; able to assert own ideas, persuade others and negotiate effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a high volume, fast paced environment; able to meet short-term staffing needs while at the same time building a talent pipeline for future needs.  Demonstrated ability to plan and execute projects.
  • Excellent change management skills and takes time to invest in innovation, continuous improvement and productivity.
  • Integrates environment, health and safety into recruitment and selection methodology, process and tools.
