Save on Energy Technical Associate

The Climate Action Associate provides support to the Climate Action team in executing day-to-day duties and utilizes relevant technical and program delivery knowledge to support departmental decisions. The incumbent is responsible for program/initiative delivery support within the Climate Action team, including project management of programs and initiatives, development of digital platforms and tools, data analytics, development of agreements, stakeholder management, process and procedures development, and procurement support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supports the implementation and development of climate action and Save on Energy related projects and programs, including monitoring and reporting on achievement of milestones, deliverables and budget, and associated reporting that enable the provision of climate action program management and data driven solutions to advance the organization’s climate action goals
• Develops customer retrofit and more technical applications to support the creation and feasibility of Save on Energy applications
• Acts as the subject matter expert on data and analytics; collaborates with and provides data and analysis to support to the Climate Action team
• Assists the team with procurement and partnership development, contributing to the drafting of agreements/contracts with partners, vendors and others to achieve a smooth program implementation, effective communication of goals and processes
• Assists in organizing outreach campaigns, workshops, and public events to promote climate action initiatives. Drafts presentations, memorandum, reports and other material for internal or external audiences to support climate action related engagement and communication
• Provides departmental support related to financial forecasting, reporting on departmental projects, and the effective administration of departmental processes to monitor project expenditures and maintain accurate financial records
• Conducts research and keeps current with best practices, legislation changes, new developments, and trends in order to strengthen the organization’s climate action initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor/Undergraduate degree; engineering, environmental science preferred
• Post graduate degree would be an asset
• Three (3) years of relevant professional experience; preferably in climate action, conservation programs or the electricity industry
• Knowledge of the Save on Energy program would be an asset
• Solid understanding of role of the electricity system in mitigating climate change
• Strong conceptual thinking, technical analysis and problem-solving skills
• Analytics and data management skills, including knowledge of applicable software and tools such as SQL, Alteryx, and Tableau
• Effective at synthesizing information into actionable recommendations
• Strong project management and contract management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Strong customer orientation
• Excels at working in a team environment
• Understanding of business development and procurement processes
• Experience with business case development
• Technical understanding of electrical power distribution concerns and issues
• Account management, strategic sales and relationship management skills
• Advanced computer skills and MS-office applications especially MS Excel. Proficient with MS

This position is based in a hybrid environment allowing for remote work two days per week, based on business needs. Employees will be required to come onsite Tuesday to Thursday. You are expected to live in Ontario and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.
