The final salary offered will be determined based on a holistic assessment of the candidate’s experience, education, training, and alignment with the role’s requirements. Reporting to the Director, Transit & Ext Initiated Projects the Manager, Project Execution is accountable for the design and execution of assigned capital, maintenance and/or customer projects so that Toronto Hydro safety, quality, customer reliability, time and cost objectives are met. The incumbent will manage all design aspects of the project including project plan development and communication with internal/external customers, assigning internal and external resources to execute projects, monitoring progress against budget timelines and resolving cost issues that may arise or delays that may prevent meeting project deadlines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises a team of technical and professional staff in the design and execution of a portfolio of capital, maintenance or customer projects
- Coaches, trains, manages attendance and safety, and schedules and assigns staff as needed to ensure effective design and construction of the projects
- Manages projects from initial design phase through construction and energization stage ensuring safety, timeliness, cost and quality targets achieved Encourages an internal customer-focused culture, educates staff on Toronto Hydro design and construction practices, including relevant laws and regulations, Standard Design Practice requirements, GIS system principles and drafting requirements, Construction Standards and procedures Reviews designs to ensure compliance with Regulatory requirements; ESA, Utility Standards, Municipal Consent Requirements, etc.
- Acts as a liaison between internal and external stakeholder groups to strengthen relationships and enhance the overall customer experience.
- Leads the day-to-day relationships with external contractor vendors to project/program attainment completion, including delivery of contractor orientation, safety management, adherence to standards and quality, site plan approval, schedule attainment, resourcing and budget attainment
- Mitigates and resolves project delivery issues as they arise with internal and external stakeholders that could impact work program attainment
- Looks for interdependence with other projects and scope packages, validating with internal peers as required
- Tracks and reports on all aspects of project performance (schedule adherence, project status reporting, identified key performance indicators, resource balancing, scope, budget/financial management)
- Vets budgetary estimates, and initiates change request process; conducts regulatory impact of change requests
- Manages, tracks and reviews funding allocations to project allocations aligned to parameters outlined in Toronto Hydro/terms and conditions of services agreement
- Engages in customer and/or community engagement events with internal and external resources, as required
- Contract Administrator for civil and electrical design and construction projects
- Leads safety discussions and partners with the team to manage and reduce safety risks.
- Represents Toronto Hydro in meetings with external stakeholders and agencies as they relate to project design, coordination and construction
REQUIREMENTS:
- Post secondary education (Electrical Engineering preferred)
- Professional Engineer (P. Eng) or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T) in province of Ontario strongly preferred. Candidates who are currently at the licensing process may be considered.
- Five (5) years of professional experience in electrical distribution, system planning, design and construction
- Three (3) - Five (5) years of supervisory or project management experience
- Valid class G license required
- Experience with computer drafting applications, project management tools
- Significant experience of electrical and civil drawings for distribution systems
- Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Experience in project tracking and reporting and financial management
- Experience with program/portfolio management – demonstrated experience managing Engineering/Procurement/Construction Projects
- Knowledge of offers to connect, coordination agreements, third party contract management, contract administration
- Knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation, Collective Agreements, utility practices and City of Toronto By-Laws Strong and effective written and verbal communication skills

This position is based in a hybrid environment allowing for remote work two days per week, based on business needs. Employees will be required to come onsite Tuesday to Thursday. You are expected to live in Ontario and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.
