Reporting to the Senior Manager, IT Portfolio Management, the successful incumbent is accountable for delivering and supporting mid-to-large scale Information Technology (IT) enabled projects and programs. In addition, s/he delivers and supports application support services for the assigned business unit partner and works with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies and information systems. This role includes direct interaction and collaboration with a broad range of senior, technical and functional management and subject matter experts throughout the organization.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:                                           

 

  • Leads a team of designated and technical professionals and support staff (internal and external resources) to manage project/program delivery, support, performance monitoring, and reporting for information technology systems and applications for the designated business unit, to ensure client systems are secure and reliable. 
  • Managing and allocating resources (including budget, people, and  systems) across the portfolio to optimize performance.
  • Plans, organizes, and collaborates with stakeholders to ensure end-to-end delivery for technology related projects within the portfolio.
  • Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement in the project delivery process and operational support.
  • In alignment with organizational programs, practices and collective agreements, manages employee performance, attendance and training and development.
  • Motivates and engages employees in the attainment of departmental goals and objectives and acts to address gaps in performance which may impact outcomes.
  • Collaborates with business units for the execution of divisional projects, support of software applications, management of incidents and service requests for the designated portfolio.
  • Responsible for responding and resolving real-time incidents in alignment with the divisional service level agreements. 
  • Identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with technology related projects and investments. 
  • Evaluate and recommend new and innovative solutions to foster the culture of innovation within the team.

 

REQUIREMENTS:                                                       

 

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business or related discipline
  • Seven (7) years of progressive experience within IT Portfolio or/and IT Program Management
  • Five (5) years of experience in leading a team for implementing information systems including application and process design, technical architecture, project management, security, data modeling, and infrastructure 
  • Experience in managing high-risk, high-visibility projects with focus on collaboration, prioritization and execution
  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing cross-functional teams
  • Post-Graduate degree (preferred)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) is preferred
  • Managing the delivery of IT project capital and operational budget of up to $5 million
  • Knowledge of Customer Experience, Utilities business and technology systems and Services
  • Comprehensive understanding of systems delivery, project management, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and ITIL methodologies.
  • Basic knowledge of standard programming and data modeling methodologies
  • Proficient with structured methods for process and organizational analysis requirements elicitation techniques

Toronto Hydro has introduced a Hybrid Work Arrangement. This position allows for remote work up to three days per week, based on business needs.  Employees will be required to come onsite on those days when they are involved in activities that they or their leader feel are better conducted in person. You are expected to live in Ontario and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.
