WORK ILLUSTRATION:
Toronto Hydro is looking for a Manager, HR Business Services to lead a team responsible for executing talent management and employee relations strategies and plans. As the Manager, HR Business Services, you will report to the Director, HR Business Services and lead the day-to-day execution of people services to an assigned internal client group. You will provide high quality, efficient, seamless support for people leaders and employees to enable people and culture outcomes that drive and improve the employee experience.
The incumbent is expected to behave ethically and follow the established code of business conduct, policies and internal control procedures, laws and regulations governing Toronto Hydro.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Leads a team of professionals and administrative support staff, managing end-to-end talent acquisition, onboarding, job design, succession planning and career management and employee labour relations support to an assigned client group.
• Forecasts, plans, executes and reports on the delivery of annual recruitment plans.
• Collaborates with client partners to understand talent management and employee relations priorities and needs and resolves issues and challenges unique to their area of responsibility.
• Measures and monitors client support and outcomes in all service support areas, acting as an escalated point of contact to resolve issues and identify opportunities for continual learning and team development.
• Working with internal and/or external stakeholders, acts as a subject matter expert in support of talent management and employee labour relations programs and initiatives.
• Leads and manages divisional or departmental projects in support of People & Culture strategies.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent.
• Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) preferred.
• Masters of Industrial Relations and/or Human Resources an asset.
• Experience leading HR teams or managing cross-functional projects
• Seven (7) years of talent management and/or employee labour relations experience in the areas of talent acquisition, onboarding, succession planning, employee relations (grievances, arbitrations, collective bargaining).
• Thorough knowledge of human resources best practices in the areas of talent acquisition, onboarding, job design, succession planning and career management, employee labour relations, grievance and arbitration management, attendance management, performance management, collective bargaining.
• Strong knowledge of applicable labour and employment legislation.
• Strong knowledge of applicable safety laws, rules and regulations.
• Experience working in a human resources function in a unionized environment (considered an asset).
This position is based in a hybrid environment allowing for remote work two days per week, based on business needs. Employees will be required to come onsite Tuesday to Thursday. You are expected to live in Ontario and within reasonable commuting distance of the office. #lihybrid
