The final salary offered will be determined based on a holistic assessment of the candidate’s experience, education, training, and alignment with the role’s requirements. For positions covered by a collective agreement, placement within the range will follow the applicable step or classification.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, IT Portfolio Management (Enterprise Projects), the IT Client Consultant works in collaboration with internal business units to translate functional business needs into requirements for Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) systems. As a business enabler and service provider, the IT Client Consultant will assist in the identification of effective business solutions to meet the business goals of the organization and recommend IT/ OT Solutions and business process redesigns which maximize efficiencies and align with strategic and operational goals for the organization.
This posting is to fill 1 position, which is an existing vacancy. Toronto Hydro reserves the right, in alignment with the applicable collective agreement, to finalize the number of positions filled.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops and maintains work breakdown structures including schedules, resources, dependencies and costs
- Coordinates the implementation of Information Technology/Operational Technology Systems to meet client needs
- Fosters engagement and communication with relevant stakeholders through business presentations and reports in MS PowerPoint, Excel and Word with appropriate level of frequency and content
- Identifies and analyzes business needs, conducts requirements gathering, and defines scope and objectives for assigned IT/OT initiatives
- Analyzes functional/process problems, develops and analyzes options, and determines and/or recommends best alternatives or practices for resolving issues
- Summarizes current state of the business process and develops future state process maps, mock up and design documentation for business units
- Perform fit gap analysis between client requirements and technical solution
- Collaborates with enterprise architect and solution architect along with other technical team members in determining technical options / solutions and to ensure the options adhere to timeline/effort estimates and architectural strategy
- Perform quality assurance testing in different stages of the project lifecycle including preparation of test cases, test data conditioning, test case execution, and defect management
- Creates and maintains documentation and procedures to support IT Systems and Processes
- Performs operational routines associated with the position
REQUIREMENTS:
- Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or other relevant professional designation.
- Minimum 5 years experience in Information Technology
- Effective oral, written, presentation and facilitation communication to communicate clearly and concisely with stakeholders, including technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience with Excellent problem-solving skills to identify problems, analyze them, and propose solutions. Able to think critically and creatively to come up with effective solutions.
- Experience with IT Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex data, identify trends, and draw conclusions
- Strong interpersonal skills to work with teams across the organization and build relationships, collaborate effectively and resolve conflicts.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness of project deliverables.
- Effective time management to be able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively
- Adaptable and able to adjust to changing business requirements, technologies, and project scope.
- Good technical skills, demonstrating good understanding of technology, including software development methodologies, databases, and programming languages
- Good understanding of business processes in the industry, including workflow, business rules, and organizational structure
- Good domain knowledge of the industry, including trends, regulations, and best practices.
- Experience in one or more of the following IT delivery models: Waterfall, Incremental, Agile.
- Experience with build, promotion and release management processes

This position is based in a hybrid environment allowing for remote work two days per week, based on business needs. Employees will be required to come onsite Tuesday to Thursday. You are expected to live in Ontario and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.
