Environment, Health and Safety Analyst

The EHS Analyst reports to the Supervisor,  Environment and Sustainability and is responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of Corporate Environment, Health and Safety programs.

The incumbent is expected to behave ethically and follow the established code of business conduct, policies and internal control procedures, laws and regulations governing Toronto Hydro.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:                                           

·       Performs research & analysis

·       Provides analysis and trending information

·       Compiles and analyzes data; provides commentary and gap analysis on trends

·       Establish contacts in various departments in Toronto Hydro and within the EHS department in order to collect data

·       Coordinates the development of various EHS programs

·       Provides assistance to the EHS Associates and Consultants with specific program requirements & activities

·       Prepares regular (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual etc.) reports

·       Develops and implements EHS performance measurement programs to assess various business processes

·       Responsible for development and maintenance of the EHS website

·       Responsible for the maintenance of the Intelex application

 

Requirements                                                   

  • University degree in Environment, Health & Safety, Sciences or Engineering
  • Minimum One (1) + year(s) related experience; co-op, summer employment and pre graduation experience will be considered

·       Post graduate studies in Occupational Health and Safety will also be considered

·       Knowledge of Environment, Health and Safety programs and issues

·       Demonstrates a commitment to environment, health and safety

·       Advanced knowledge of computer applications i.e. MS Office, specifically Access and Excel, experience working with data collection and analysis software

·       Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

·       Excellent communication skills

·       Strong organizational and time management skills

·       Demonstrates a positive, learning attitude

·       Drives results and accountability – has a clear sense of corporate direction; holds self and others accountable to achieve objectives

·       Customer focused – models a customer focused approach in all decisions and actions
