WORK ILLUSTRATION:
As an Human Resources Administrator at Toronto Hydro, you will play a key role in supporting the HR Business Services department through a variety of administrative and coordination tasks. You will be responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and supporting both internal teams and external partners with professionalism and efficiency.
The incumbent is expected to behave ethically and follow the established code of business conduct, policies and internal control procedures, laws and regulations governing Toronto Hydro.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides day-to-day administrative support for various HR activities and initiatives
- Proactively assists the team to post job vacancies, screen resumes, schedule candidate testing and interviews, administers assessments, and conducts/ confirms background check results
- Supports department schedule and calendar management by scheduling meetings, booking meeting rooms and maintaining meeting notes and agendas in addition to other tasks as required
- Reconciles various divisional costs and processes invoicesTracks, maintains, and reports on divisional activity on a weekly/monthly basis.
- Maintains/updates divisional data
- Prepares spreadsheets, graphs, and presentations which are accurate and professionally formatted, procedure reviews, and process improvement initiatives
- Conducts divisional research as necessary
- Maintains a complete and organized departmental record-keeping system based on recognized Records Management practices, leading the annual Records Management review process on behalf of the team
- Supports the execution of divisional events and initiatives
REQUIREMENTS:
- University Degree with a focus in Human Resources or a related field,
or a University Degree combined with a post-graduate diploma or certificate in Human Resources. - One to two (1–2) years of progressive experience in a human resources environment, along with administrative and/or customer service-related experience, demonstrating strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a client-focused approach
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), with proven ability to work efficiently using various computer systems, work management tools, and general office automation applications
- Experience using an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) preferred
- Working towards CHRP (Certified Human Resources Professional) considered an asset
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- High attention to detail and accuracy, especially when handling sensitive employee data, documentation, and financial records.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach and the ability to build strong working relationships across teams.
- Experience with SAP for invoicing and budget tracking, is a strong asset.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism when managing sensitive HR matters.
This position is based in a hybrid environment allowing for remote work two days per week, based on business needs. Employees will be required to come onsite Tuesday to Thursday. You are expected to live in Ontario and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.
