WORK ILLUSTRATION:

 

The Asset Investment Analyst will provide a wide range of engineering support services that will ensure technical soundness, reliability, safety and cost effectiveness of the utility and Electrical Distribution Power System. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the development, management and continuous improvement of processes and systems that are cross-functional in nature. The Asset Investment Analyst is responsible for data management, data analytics and business process improvements related to engineering reports and projects.

 

The incumbent is expected to behave ethically and follow the established code of business conduct, policies and internal control procedures, laws and regulations governing Toronto Hydro.

 

Successful candidates must possess the following competencies and will be pre-screened for those bolded, prior to the interview portion of the selection process. Competencies are listed in order of significance.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:                                           

  • Play a significant role in the strategic development of Asset Management capabilities across the department and supports the development and enhancement of key Emerging Technology Initiatives
  • Perform and support data and technical to ensure the safe, reliable, efficient and economical operation of our distribution system
  • Perform analysis of process and system changes to identify and communicate impacts
  • Liaise with customers, planners, technical consultants, and internal stakeholders to support projects
  • Respond to technical requests and inquiries while seeking support from other business units as necessary
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders (i.e OEB, customers) to ensure process compliance and high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Provides timely support and consultation, demonstrates effective project management and process efficiencies; reviews, develops and/or presents business proposals, plans, designs, processes, operational procedures and practices.
  • Supports the team in preparation of documents and regular reporting for relevant KPIs and multiple initiatives within the department to identify risks and provide recommendations
  • Stay current with industry best practices in business, process methodologies and technologies and recommend solutions to positively impact business results; conduct research on industry and market trends.
  • Investigate and evaluate the application of new technologies and tools

REQUIREMENTS:         

  • Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience in electrical engineering and external relationship management
  • Experience in battery energy storage projects and/or facility energy management preferred
  • Knowledge of electricity distribution systems, construction, safety rules, and regulations.
  • Experience working directly with customers or in customer service roles.
  • Knowledge of maintenance systems, contract management workflows
  • Experience in data mining including programming, process organization analysis, improvement and development of new initiatives considered an asset.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Fully proficient in use of Microsoft Office including MS Excel, Access, Visio, and other Project Management tools.
  • Awareness of project management processes, principles and methodologies.
  • Ability to synthesize, evaluate and integrate information from multiple sources, and to provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work collaboratively on inter-departmental teams and across organizational boundaries.
  • Solid understanding of business issues and challenges, and demonstrates tact and diplomacy specifically in a customer engagement/stakeholder management environment.
  • Excellent analytical, technical, and business solution development skills, including the proven ability to function effectively in a dynamic environment within a multi-disciplinary team setting.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, and report writing skills.

                                             


 

Toronto Hydro has introduced a Hybrid Work Arrangement. This position allows for remote work up to three days per week, based on business needs.  Employees will be required to come onsite on those days when they are involved in activities that they or their leader feel are better conducted in person. You are expected to live in Ontario and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.
